Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14
The Purpose of Midway UMC Preschool
The purpose of Midway UMC Preschool is to provide a safe Christian atmosphere where children ages 2-5 can develop spiritually, socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically.
The staff at Midway UMC Preschool is commited to providing a quality preschool program for the children in our care. Our teachers are dedicating their lives to be a part of your child's early childhood experience.
Our staff will model the importance of leading a Christian life. They will teach your child how to grow spiritually while having fun learning skills, both academic, and social, that are necessary to prepare them to be successful in kindergarten, elementary school and beyond.
We want your child to have a positive, fun preschool experience where they feel loved, safe and supported.
Studies show that children who attend a quality preschool typically have bigger vocabularies, read more, do better on standardized tests, and are less likely to be retained or need special education. They are more likely to graduate from high school, attain higher education and wages, and less likely to need welfare or be involved in criminal activities.
Your investment in your child's future is the foundation for everything they will do in life, starting with kindergarten and continuing through adulthood.
Early childhood education creates successful students, creates solid citizens and creates better communities.
Midway Methodist Preschool uses the Christian-based Pinnacle Curriculum. It emphasizes being a Christian in our daily lives.
Staff completes and executes age-appropriate lesson plans each week, using the curriculum's monthly themes and Bible focus materials. Children will learn to make faith connections while participating in daily activities.
Your child will be introduced to the alphabet, as well as letter and sound recognition, numbers, colors, shapes, fundamentials of reading, songs & rhyming, writing their names, grouping, patterns, sequencing, and much more.
Classroom discipline is learned by raising hands, taking turns, lining up, listening, sharing, cooperating, and practicing good manners.
